I know my plumber who is a gas safe approved engineer, goes around all earth connections with a meter is correct, maybe this plumber failed to do it.

It sounds like an urban myth.

I would assume that there was a waste disposal unit attached to the sink which the Acid because its metal burnt through also there was no trip device on their CCU.

Looks like its a sixtys block so no lead would have been used in the construction unless it was the Roof... Banned in the late 70s(I think)
