No, not a bad speller, just a different one, like our colour, your color.
BTW, even though I changed to UK English, I still have that darn red line under colour, but not under color.

According to Susie Dent of Countdown, the use of "s" or "z" in words ending in "ise" or "ize" is allowable in British English because it says so in the Oxford English Dictionary.

Just for your information. If you are on win10, it should say 'ENG' bottom right of screen. Clicking on this gives the option to change to US spelling.
