Re: Ready to Quit

What "wonderful job"? The whole bally lot should have been got rid of YEARS ago. They serve absolutely NO useful porpoise and cost us quite literally a fortune.

I will be sad to see the Queen go, she's done a marvelous job.

The Queen always said that she would not abdicate but I wonder if with all the negative feeling about big ears taking the reigns, they feel it better to ease him in gently. Even when he becomes King, she will still be in charge so long as she is alive.

A prince regent, to carry out duties she cannot if this pandemic forces her to self-isolate into next year.

In charge of what? Certainly not Britain. Whoever is monarch has no actual power and not should they. The UK monarchy and the whole lot of the direct and indirect lot are nothing but a very expensive anachronism

Re: Ready to Quit

Well I certainly wouldn't want to still have to work at 95, so good luck to her in her retirement I say.

As for Charles, who on earth wants to start a new job at 71 ! Most men have been retired a few years by then . . . oh, except MP's and Judges.
