The Last Kingdom

Any one watching Bernard Cornwells The Last Kingdom series. The fact that Uhtred is a rather comely lad has nothing to do with me getting all overcome and patriotic on a Thursday night.

Great acting/action and riveting plot make this a BBC must view

Re: The Last Kingdom

Ive just finished book 9 in the series, got to admit the screen Uhtred looks a bit wimpy compared to the book version.

Re: The Last Kingdom

We have recorded it and watched part one, which was very good.

Now just have to find the time and energy to watch the rest.

Re: The Last Kingdom

A bit gory but yes, enjoying it on the whole. Stories set in the Dark Ages are all too few and its nice to wallow in some ancient history.

Re: The Last Kingdom

I just love it. Fab programme. First episode did you notice
they put the Viking words and then translated it into modern day?
Loidis was Leeds and of course my home town. That's why
am a Loiner.

It is a bit gory but it was in those days. Didn't mind if you were
man, woman or child. You got the sword from somebody.

Have done my DNA and I have got Viking in me so don't know
whose side to be on lol.
Yes there are some hunky guys in it with beards. So I am
enthralled as well. Its very interesting Viking stories.

Lug, Sneck, Midden, Lakin, feyght, threng
( a bit of Viking for you, still spoken in Yorkshire).

Cant wait for this weeks episode. Sitha!!!

Re: The Last Kingdom

Beocca the priest guy reminds me of Donald Pleasance and Brida looks a lot like Joan Baez and is really getting on my nerves!

Re: The Last Kingdom

Whilst I am thoroughly enjoying all aspects of this series I am very surprised to read The Last Kingdom is being critically slammed, but from the comments below the article also pleased that the viewing public disagree.

My favourite comment was. The worst tripe is often the most enjoyable.
