Must read that Solo! I love The Ladies no 1 Detective Agency series by Alexander McCall Smith set in Botswana. Lovely gentle humour.

A very bad choice to read whilst travelling on public transport, sudden uncontrolable bursts of laughter end up with people staring as if you are mad when really its just Tom Sharpes great writing conjouring the most amazing scenes!

I too like Irish humour. I recall really laughing out loud on a flight and I had tears rolling down my face reading McCarthy's Bar by Pete McCarthy. Loved that book and the follow up Road to McCarthy.
