When I had an Afghan I used to dress it in a Burqa.

They do feel the cold and of course hate the rain !
I do like Mups in the Santa hat though . Mine would never sit nicely like that

Im not against wet/cold weather coats . the sort of thing this dog was wearing would be no protection against any weather

Re: Dogs in clothes

It's nothing new.

My dad was horrified when he saw our staffie dressed in my sister's christening gown.

I thought he looked good, then again I was only 6.

Dressing them is rather disturbing, I think.

That was a one off and is excusable ,because my daughter did the same with my cut down wedding dress when she was very young .

Re: Dogs in clothes

I don't think anyone would disagree with dressing a small dog in a proper coat when it's cold, the problem is those that dress them like humans. I hate it personally.

There was a programme on TV last night about the top ten dogs and it showed one woman who insisted on washing her dogs every single day and putting some sort of curlers on them. IMO, the dogs did not look happy.
If you saw the programme you'll know who I am talking about - The rich, posh woman with bad taste in interior design.

Re: Dogs in clothes

Yes LD, I watched the late half of that programme and shouted at the telly! Could understand a woman doing it, but the husband also encouraging the dressing up and pampering was something else.

I despise the idea of handbag dogs and the dressing up of them, just to please the owner.
