Rescued baby birds
Thought I'd cut the lawns tonight so out with the lawnmower and off I went, as I was approaching what I thought was a clump of dead grass I was about to run the mower over it when it moved!! It was then I realized it was a young chick ( pigeon) laid in the middle of the lawn it had been injured but was still quite feisty so what to do , consult the font of all knowledge ( the wife) and she was on the phone to the RSPCA which was closed, but the voice message said to ring the nearest vet which she did, by this time I'd found another hiding in the shrubs, this one was uninjured and acting on the advice given by the RSPCA answer phone, we put them in a shoebox and took them to the vets ( as they also advised) now, we're not lovers of wood pigeons, but we couldn't leave them to die a slow death, either by being eaten by something or starving to death or whatever, and I couldn't find any more chicks or any adult bird's for that matter, now what the vets decide to do with them is up to them, but if they do decide to put them down at least it will be humanely
