Pancakes.

Pancake day is upon us soon.

I instead of using tap water to get air into my mix use sparkling water, a friend uses soda water.

Now this got me thinking what other liquid could be used.

Lemonade. Cherry Cola. Cider, Asti, Lager.

I thought light coloured sparkling drinks of a light colour, Guinness would just not look right, to dark.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Re: Pancakes.

Good tip, Adrian, I think I'll try sparkling water this year!

How about using Lucozade? Pancakes to give you energy so every excuse to eat a lot of them!

Lucozade sounds good, especially with sliced bananas and thick cream and chocolate shavings. I think three will do me. LOL

Re: Pancakes.

Have you not tried Liquer flavoured Pancakes? They taste quite nice and help to spread merriment around, particulary if you eat a lot.

Re: Pancakes.

Watching a cooking program and although he is making fish in a beer batter, he has added curry powder to the mix.

The curry powder would make a savoury pancake that little bit different.

I imagine chicken, and mushrooms would work, or perhaps tuna, salmon.

Oh, we don't generally do pancake day here, but I like the idea of the curry powder!! Sounds very tasty!
