Re: Need to cut down on SALT!

Hi all

I always use sea salt in cooking and on the table, i have a blood pressure monitor from Boots it cost me a small fortune at the time, it was about 2 years ago when i purchased it, i believe its possable to buy the same unit for alot less.

However my blood pressure is i am told by my GP is very good, and on a par with someone half my age, i like my salt and have told my GP i have not reduced the amount of salt i use, so i suppose it depends on each person

Personally I don't use salt when cooking, Himself always adds salt to whatever he's eating so I don't see the point in him having a double dose.

Re: Need to cut down on SALT!

I haven't use salt at all in any cooking for a few years now, it took me a while to get used to the taste but now I wouldn't have it any other way.

In face the only salt I use now is for sprinkling over icy steps and paths during the winter!

Re: Need to cut down on SALT!

havn't had salt in cooking for years, ( except for bread, bread tastes horrid without a little salt) and don't notice it any more, I use herbs instead as well, does mean cooking from scratch, but do a big lot and freeze it in portions

No cooking with salt here either, and like Mags, buy a stock of it for the steps and paths in Winter

I also have a big stack of salt for the drive and paths in Winter....But I'm lucky I don't have to clear them....himself uses the Tractor to do that. Unless I'm at my own home in Perth then it's out with the Shovels.lol.

Re: Need to cut down on SALT!

I like me salt, but I also have high BP, so I compromise by using Lo-Salt.
