Much as I'd like to agree, Nige hasn't and at the moment can't be put forward as a PM candidate.

A PM is just a "front of stage" person whose role is to deliver the decisions made in the Cabinet.

That means they must have very good oratory skills!

They must be seen to be very trustworthy.

They get told what to say, who to say it to, and will call to order the meeting group he/she happens to be in at the time.

When you think of it, in those terms, you realise that you need someone with a strong personality/image such that they are not browbeaten easily. They can, and should, sack those who won't tow the line. They should, also, appoint Cabinet members who go with the public wishes.

So where does that leave us?

Probably with Boris.
