Probably best to buy USB 3.0. It future-proofs it for when/if you get a computer that supports it ..or if you want to plug it into someone else's computer that does.

Just re-format them yourself. Don't know which specific format you need but would guess FAT32.
Nothing to do with format both drives in the illustration were NTFS
