Before this news broke, I had spent several years cringing at Danny Baker, ever since I saw him on a 'candid camera' type programme... don't remember what it was as it was years ago...saying "Don't you know who I am?" crossly and arrogantly to a taxi-driver who wasn't having any of his Divo histrionics.
Nothing I have seen or heard since did anything to sway me from that initial opinion, despite him seeming to have public opinion on his side a lot of the time.
The revelation of yesterday's Twitter thing just reinforced that initial opinion.
Had to smile wryly at the later news bulletins and quotes where he was trying to play the innocent about not realising what the implications of the tweeted picture were.
The news of his sacking today did come as a bit of a shock, I must admit, but maybe the Beeb had, like me, had enough of his arrogance?
And still he tries to play the jokey Lad card.
Nah, not a jokey Lad, Mr. Baker, just a blokey saddo, I'm afraid.
