Prize Twerp
I did a really stupid thing today, and was very embarrassed.I had a hospital appointment at 1.30pm. When I got there, there was a notice on the door saying they are closed from 12.45 - 1.45. I thought, how odd. Fancy sending me an appointment when they know they're closed.
However, I could hear voices behind the door, so knocked to query it.
A very nice lady opened the door and I asked her why I had an appointment if they weren't open, and should I wait.
This is when I had a bit of a shock.
She looked at my letter and said: "Your appointment is at Kettering Hospital dear - this is Northampton General!!!!
Boy, did I feel a prize twerp!

I couldn't believe it. I was so embarrassed. Luckily the nurse saw the funny side and was really kind.I quickly phoned the other hospital, which is a good 30 mins drive away, and grovelled profusely, and they were ever so good, and said to get on over there and they would still fit me in between patients. They didn't half laugh when I eventually got there.
The stupid thing is, I don't know why I did it, because the bloomin' appointment letter was on clearly headed paper, saying which hospital it was at!
When I eventually got back home, Gertie had wee'd in the kitchen, and been round pinching everything off the radiators, and shredded my newspaper! I guess she is still only 5 months old though.
because my mum got the date wrong.
feeling a nit.
