Bob Holness.

Has died at the age of 83. Most will remember Bob for Blockbusters, the ITV game show which he compered from 1983 -1993.

He also was the presenter for the BBC's Call My bluff popular panel game which he ran from 1996- 2002.
Born in South Africa, he was a theatre actor and even played James Bond in a radio play back in 1956, he joined the BBC back in the 1960s

Bob, who had suffered a series of strokes died peacefully in his sleep on Friday.

A legend of a man, I always thought of him fondly. A lovely smile and a lovely personality.

Sad news...always used to watch Blockbusters. He seemed a very genuine person and always had a lovely smile.

Proper gentleman, good manners, well spoken, all so rare nowadays, with all the sloppily dressed and spoken, so called presenters we have to put up with on Television.

It is very sad to hear of Bob's demise. 83 is a good age to go, but I agree that he was a lovely man.

It was always a delight when the contestants said "Can I have a P (pee), Bob?"
