Getting up

How long do you reckon it takes you to get going in the mornings now?
Are you someone who wakes up refreshed and rareing to go, or do you stumble about making your first cuppa and unable to think straight even?

Re: Getting up

I'm wide awake as soon as I get up but I prefer the first couple of hours to be "me" time.

Re: Getting up

I am awake as soon as the alarm goes off, before it usually. Starting work at 4.30am I have to be wide awake quite quickly or the drive to work is dangerous and I don't like getting up much before 4am so a quick shower and I am away.

Re: Getting up

I used to leap out of bed (literally) and straight into stretching exercise for about 30 minutes and then take the dogs out, come back, shower and off to work.

Now, I sit semi-comotosed for nearly two hours before accepting I need to actually move around.

Re: Getting up

I am up each morning just after 5:30am, usually bright and alert. Will have a drink - tea or hot water - but nothing to eat until I have been up for about an hour. I like to go for a walk and then do the chores early so the rest of the day is mine to play with. For me, thinking, planning, writing and decision making are best done either very early in the day or just before bedtime - ususally around midnight.

I have never used an alarm clock - it would put me in a bad mood for the rest of the day if I were so roughly awakened. My father always used one, would have probably slept all day if he hadn't!

Re: Getting up

Even though I've retired, or rather, I don't have to get up for work, I still tend to wake and get up at about 7 a.m. To my mind, anything earlier doesn't exist!

Then it's a coffee, check my mail, look at things like this forum etc..
If I'm lucky, I's sort of half civilised by 8.30 am.

I tend never to fully wake up these days.
