I see no reason why all flammable cladding be prohibited but I do believe that it's use should be strictly limited and controlled. For example shiplap wood cladding up to (say) 25 feet would be perfectly acceptable and in keeping with a great many existing buildings hereabouts. Especially further down in Essex where it's very common on old houses.

Used to own fou r log cabins,but they were made from solid logs
and not the plank and moulded cladding shyte they sell now ?
