I like the polymer notes. The first one I ever saw was a Malaysian 5ringhitt (~£1) one, which circulating before our £5 was even issued.

Following on from the main content of this thread I found some information about what happens to all the old £20 notes and it's surprising. I found this quite interesting and thought others, including those who have commented on this thread, might also like to read it:

That's interesting Baz. I had no idea hey were composted. They don't say what they will be doing with the polymer ones though.

Yes, I thought it was interesting too. With the polymer notes I am wondering if, with them being 'plastic', the next thing we know is that they are not environmentally friendly and no good for recycling! That scenario will be even more interesting I reckon!
