The people of Port Issac have had enough of this programme and have made lots of complaints, this maybe one of the reasons why they are calling it a day.

Some are fed up with it for sure, but it’s done a lot for port Issac, people come from far and wide to see where it’s filmed, and the local businesses welcome this..
We used to like it,up to about the time his aunt died.He changed from being socially awkward to just nasty. And that stupid copper was extremely annoying.
I agree with Susie, and always looked forward to an episode. There is still potential for another series, IMO, with loose ends. Hope it returns in 2 years time.

It's the same attitude in Holmfirth when it was put on the map by Last of the Summer Wine. At first, they were glad of the attention with local businesses cashing in on the show's popularity but latterly, it became a burden as visitors to the town tramped all over private properties in an effort to spot the locations. Nora Battye's house at the end of Hollowgate in particular came in for close scrutiny.
My God, I thought someone had died when I read the title of the post - Doc Martin? Nah, I've seen a couple and it's not for me. Now the loss of Jeremy Kyle WAS devastating for me ... (only kidding, honest).
