Missing Deer

During winter /Spring & Early summer we had a Muntjack deer come to our garden & neighbours garden, it would wait while my son threw an apple/ some peanuts & cut down some leaves for it,but for about 2/3 weeks it hasnt been back.I only hope that it is alright & has found a mate somewhere

Re: Missing Deer

I saw one close to my house last Sunday it looked very sleek and fat .
I dont know when they breed but maybe it has a fawn.
However Muntjacs are an invasive species and as such are not protected .

Re: Missing Deer

Muntjacs only seem to come into my garden around October and onwards.
They come for the apples that fall off my trees. I have sweet apples but they seem to prefer the Bramley cooking apples.

I think they must be very sensitive to movement. I watch them from my kitchen which is quite a way from the apples trees. One slight movement from me and they are off!
