Russian trawlers in scottish waters??

Reprted today that about eleven russian super trawlers are presently
plundering a fishing conservation area off the scottish coast!!!
Who should be responsible for policing this area?
The scottish?
The british?
Or the eu?
The eu declared it a conservation area a couple of years ago, but
since then the dutch have been seen there with their super
trawlers as well?
Before we know it the chinese will be yhere as well??
What a farce!!!

Only those allowed by the great british navy can fish there. It is british water, so go get them! Like you plan to do with EU fishermen.

Make an example of those russians, so the EU will bind in on their demands for access to your fishing waters.

The trawlers are more than 100m long and satellite tracking shows they are fishing in the Wyville-Thomson Ridge Special Area of Conservation (SAC) north of Scotland.
Marine scientists said the presence of so many trawlers showed the weakness of the UK’s network of marine protected areas. They have been described as “paper parks” because they lack rules to protect them and many, including Wyville-Thomson Ridge, permit intensive fishing and other damaging activities.

The Russians are permitted to fish there and are targeting blue whiting, which tends to be turned into fishmeal.

Nothing to do with any transition period or the EU. Scottish Government spokeswoman said, “We are aware that a multi-national fleet is legitimately operating in shared waters under the Faroese Government’s authority, and has done for a number of years.

Every vessel has a right of access and "safe passage". The "Russian ships in UK waters" heresy is just the media trying to wind everyone up.

In about a week we will be getting "sharks spotted in Cornwall" as usual from the Mirror and the Guardian but they are only porbeagles that are native to the region and perfectly harmless. Same goes fir smooth hounds and I even saw last week a report of a dogfish in a local paper, described as a small shark.
