No idea what a macro lens is and can't understand how I missed this thread.Gasman.... utterly butterly brilliant photography!
Have you ever gone in for competitions with photography? Or the BBC calendar wildlife one?
If not, you damn well should!

Basically, a macro lens allows the photographer to get closer to a subject to obtain a more defined shot. It takes some getting used to, but can be fun too As for competitions, I entered one a few years ago of the Red Arrows and won. I haven't entered anything since as the level has been upped and I wouldn't stand a chance - but thank you for your lovely comments.

Yes, now you mention it, I remember you telling us about the Red Arrows. Put me out of my misery, didn't you get to see them as the prize?
