Columbine

We seem to have a lot of Columbine in the garden this year. It's starting to fight it out with the Fern and Jasmine. I wonder which one will win?

I have fern, but no Columbine. The latter taller so it might win.

I think aquliegias are my favourite flowers. So lovely!

I used to like aquliegias until they took over the garden. I keep trying to take out the purple and funny looking pink ones and leave the white ones.
They've got such deep roots too.

I'm on a losing battle this year. Once again it's all about the purple ones and just one white one
The pink ones look nice this year though.

Columbine is an alternative name for the flower. Whenever I think of the name, it always sets 'The Seekers' song running through my head where they sing about Pierrot and Columbine in 'The Carnival Is Over'.

Like others I've never heard of them referred to as Columbines,grannies knight cap is what it is.
