Now all has become clear and it's bloody disgusting.

It's all about thwarting BREXIT.

Cop this. A summary of a Bill posted on the UK Parliament website states one has been put forward in an attempt to push through a transition time extension.

"A Bill to require Her Majesty's Government to seek a two-year extension to the implementation period under Article 132 of the Withdrawal Agreement; to repeal the -prohibition on agreeing to such an extension under section 33 of the European Union (Withdrawal Agreement) Act 2000, and for connected purposes." (Copied from today's Daily Mail)

So in this very obviously orchestrated underhand campaign by those opposed to BREXIT by undermining BoJo and inciting a number of MP's to withdraw support for the government in spite of having the Conservative whip as well as cause public outrage the intent has been to delay the final end of our connection with the awful EU presumably in the expectation that Article 50 will be rescinded at the end of the 2 year extension out of sheer boredom.

As I said - now it all makes sense. Pigs.

I suspect a little tongue in cheek there Todgy, however l cannot
fault your reasoning and sentiments!!

Hi

I disagree.

One of the main critics of Cummings is Stephen Barclay, a rampant Brexiteer and Ex Chairman of the ERG .

The UK is leaving, deal or no deal at the end of this year.

Will we be leaving with the deal Boris promised.

We can have our cake and eat it?

That is increasingly unlikely.

Leaving for me was a principle, not a financial advantage.

Boris now has to deliver on his promises.

Barklay probably feels miffed at Cummings because he feels
Cummings has replaced him in Boris's affections?
On the deal/ no deal issue my feelings are that any so called deal
will come with strings attached and thus will compromise us in
reaping the benefits of getting out?
In other words no deal should be an imperative for us!
I see reports today that Barnyard thinks it will be easy to achieve
an agreement for fishing whereby eu retains access to our fish?
IMO the last thing we want is a prearranged deal with eu where they
have ANY input into how we run things in OUR territory!!
We must be the ones to control our assets, THEY must take what
WE allow them too!
Barnyard still needs to realise the boot is on the other foot now??

Now it becomes clear that Boris cannot deliver Brexit without Cummings.

As many of the same journalists who seem to so fear Cummings have spent years pointing out, Johnson himself doesn’t have much of a backbone, nor is he the most ideologically driven PM. Cummings has both of those key qualities that Johnson lacks. More than that, he represents those qualities to a large proportion of the Brexit-voting public who might otherwise not have moved to Johnson’s side.

Never had any doubt.

Since Boris (+ DC) came to power, the control has switched from Remain to Leave.

To get any control back, at all, they (The remainers) need to topple those two, or discredit them enough to let the not so well meaning Leave supporters get back control of the floor.

Court cases, scandals about Boris, etc., all have been tried, to no real avail.

This new Covid one, aimed at Boris, through DC. is a bit odd, but, had Boris failed to stand up for DC, it might have worked.

There will be more to come!

I dont think Cummings had an effect on tory votes in the election?
The largest shift of voters was from the brexit party to the the tories
when Nigel stood half of his candidates down from their campaigns
Cinders if you can remember that far back??
Cummings probably hadsome influence then in convincing Boris to
then give Nigel the cold shoulder? ( think about it)
And in the ongoing so called negotiations l believe that David Frost,
our eu negotiator has taken control there and imo has excelled all
previous appointees to the job? maybe Cummings augments
Frostie, but by no means controls him in any way!!
David Frost rules, OK!!

More comment from article.

One prominent Brexiteer admitted as much: for all their concerns over the changeable Boris, they slept more easily at night knowing that the cause of Brexit was safe in the hands of his chief aide. The government simply cannot afford to lose that kind of individual – especially with so many “Red Wall” seats only “borrowed” from a resurgent Labour Party under Sir Keir Starmer.

Dismissing him now would signal to the press, the opposition and to the nation that the prime minister was not strong but weak; that it was now open season on his government and its people. It would suggest to his own backbenchers that this potentially long-lived (and therefore career-stunting) PM was wounded and ripe for the kill – a far less risky thing for ambitious Tories to try to pull off with an 80 seat majority and little risk of losing control of Number 10.
