Light Up

Does your local town decorate up with Christmas Lights well...I live between two local towns and they couldnt be more like chalk and cheese with their decorations...
The closest town to me puts on a gorgeous display in town with all one colour fairy lights all through the town.
Sadly the other town is pretty dismal and doesnt inspire anyone.
So how does your local town look?

Re: Light Up

In the town centre particularly around the council offices area it is well lit with some lovely lights, they always decorate the same area in the summer with flowers and plants. Just a step or two away from the council offices nothing at all. The shops mostly do nice displays though so it is looking nice both in the town and in the local villages but no thanks to the council.

Having said that I prefer they feed and care for the needy than put up loads of lights, just think it's a bit rich they only decorate around the council offices.

Re: Light Up

When we first came here there was very little sign of Christmas until a week before. Nowadays it seems to start earlier, Christmas lights up everywhere by the end of November. Already many houses have decorations up inside and out, especially the Germans who always start early, but it's nice to see.

Indeed Julie, thats very important and a priority ofc its a shame the council doesnt put up more though ..but then they are all cash strapped Im guessing
