Turkey dinner

Not sure if this should go here, or in 'Pets' ?

There was a lovely picture in todays paper of a geriatric Turkey wandering about in someone's garden.
His name is "Dinner", although he will never be eaten.

He is a pet of a lovely 62 year old lady from Nottingham, who says - "He has never even come close to being slaughtered. We couldn't do it. He gets past Christmas every year and always breathes a sigh of relief in January."

"Dinner" is one of the oldest UK turkeys ever.

Good on yer, kind lady from Nottingham.

Re: Turkey dinner

There are turkeys next door to me.
Whenever I close my garden gate they all rush about and "gobble", makes me laugh every time. I warned my neighbour that should one escape into my garden it can claim asylum.
I hate it every day year when it goes quiet.

Re: Turkey dinner

Always reminds me of the man who was sat enjoying a glass of wine in the lounge on xmas morning....... He shouted to his wife in the kitchen saying 'how are you getting on with that turkey love ?' She replied ' I've plucked it and I've stuffed it, all I have to do now is kill it and put it in the oven'
