They are entering our country illegally Solasch, so they are illegal immigrants.

if they were refugees they would have to seek asylum in the first safe country they enter (UN rules) - Greece or Italy. Then by the Dublin Agreement they need to be fingerprinted and added to Eurodac.

You even said this earlier yourself. Why do you keep changing your mind and arguing with yourself ?

Based on UN regulations a person is free in his chouce which country to ask asylum.
If someone does in the EU, the dublin protocol is there to ensure the criteria are the same in any memberstate.

Here is the section

To*avoid*abuses, European law, the Dublin Regulation, requires that*asylum seekers have their*asylum*claim registered in the*first country*they arrive in, and that the decision of the*first*EU*country*they apply in, is the final decision in all EU*countries.

You forgot a piece:
submitted by persons seeking*international protection*under the*Geneva Convention*and the*EU Qualification Directive, within the*European Union.

We were discussing people seeking refuge in the UK, after travelling through the EU. As under UN regulations is their right to do.
Only if the ask refuge in the EU the dublin protocol is applicable.
Mixing wrong ingredients again bread. You never get your OWL in potions this way.

No we weren't we were discussing illegal immigration. If it was all above board they wouldn't be coming across the channel in a dinghy.

Read your own laws

Therein lies the root of the discussion. I call them people seeking refuge (which doesn't exclude denial of it), you call them illegal immigrants, labelling them up front as criminal. The basis of your, and many other, legal system is: innocent until proven guilty. You don't believe in the british legal system?
