I doubt Ribena, which that woman made my sisters and I drink, has much vitamin C in it.
ah, I think you are right about Ribena, so then perhaps you're mam didn't know what she was talking about after all Hey, I bet it had loads of sugar in.
Also tongue. It's supposed to be a delicacy but there's something disgusting in chewing an animal's tongue. A bit like eating an eye. I'm sure both are very nutritious but - ugh!
That is disgusting too, another thing my mother used to make us take.
My mum tried all sorts of techniques to get to me to take it. She'd dip bread into it and give me that. Then she bought the sweet orange version which was even worse because you get that yukky rancid fish kick over the sweetness. It's like being cheated. I used to have to take a whole tablespoon. But at least we must all have nice strong bones now!
I remember being invited to a friends,for a buffet,I fancied some of her coronation chicken,it tasted of fish,not nice at all,made me feel sick for days.
