Actually I cant remember mum or dad teaching us anything, other then not to grow up to be like them ( which thankfully we haven't done )
My nan taught us all how to tell the time and our ABC, which thinking back was a pretty amazing achievement seeing as she was Downs Syndrome and could barely read or right herself. She also taught us about sharing and how to drink tea out of a saucer
She also taught us how to make beds with hospital corners. I loved my nan
Aunt Pat taught us manners, how to care for our nails and hair, to always drink tea from a china cup, how to knit and crochet, make rag rugs, and how to play rummy, poker and crib
She also taught us the value of money and how to make a penny do the work of a pound , thrift was her middle name.
Both wonderful ladies who I still think of very much with love
