Re: Goodbye Horrible Year

Starting in January, it's been an horrific year for my health.

That is key isn't it, good health and most years seem ok, bad health nothing seems right. Sorry you are suffering ffosse.

Re: Goodbye Horrible Year

My only real criticism of this year is that reality has kicked in and I have suddenly realised that I am getting older. The things I could once do easily like lift two bags of rubble have become more difficult. One at a time now and that's probably because I can't be bothered and no longer see things as a challenge.

That and some family problems made 2018 nothing to write home about but it could have been a lot worse.

Re: Goodbye Horrible Year

Nothing terrible has befallen me or my loved ones and my husband Tony's Alzheimer's hasn't got much worse so it was a good year for me.

I hope next year will be as good.

Re: Goodbye Horrible Year

Been a roller-coaster year health wise. Blood platelets are up and down like a yo-yo. During the summer there was a fairly steady rise in the number of platelets, but earlier this month I managed to lose 40,000 in the space of a week - put a huge curb on my stamina and energy and hence my activities.

The loss of that number of blood platelets also impacts on my ability to breathe as my lungs are not receiving enough oxygenated blood leading to acute breathlessness.

Thank you Julie darlin' - the treatment regime which requires attendance at hospital weekly for (a) blood tests, (b) Injection into the stomach is quite strict.

Re: Goodbye Horrible Year

We are all likely to suffer some ill health, because we are all getting older, but it is the way we react to the problems that make them bad. Here is a little tip to help anybody who is suffering......... " Make sure you find something that makes you smile or laugh each day"

Muddy, did you manage to have a Bucks Fizz in bed on Christmas morning?

Re: Goodbye Horrible Year

I was doing fine until the end of November when the Grim Reaper arrived with a vengeance - three funerals in as many weeks is not good by any standards. Roll on 2020.

Happy New Year to you all!
