Harlesden street party of 500 people broken up by police

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-52902984

A street party involving 500 revellers breaking lockdown rules in north-west London was broken up police in the early hours.

Videos on social media show hundreds of people gathering in Harlesden, despite Covid-19 social distancing rules.

The Met Police said five people had been arrested at the event involving 500 people on the Church Road Estate, which began on Tuesday night.

The Met said 11 of its officers were assaulted and received minor injuries when a small minority of party-goers refused to leave.

"Five arrests were made - three for assault on police, one for affray and one for attempted grievous bodily harm and dangerous driving. All remain in custody," police said.
Health Secretary Matt Hancock has said that people from ethnic minority backgrounds are "disproportionately" dying with coronavirus.

67% of the population identified themselves as being BAME (Black, Asian and minority Ethnic) at the 2011 census in the Harlesden ward.

Clive McBride, who lives nearby, said "People are dying of Covid-19, millions are in lockdown, the NHS risking their lives everyday, and what do Harlesden youth do? Throw block party after block party."
Could the "disproportion" be due to flagrant rule-breaking .....

Pretty nuts that we are getting so relaxed when we have one of the highest death rates, only Mexico and the US have more incremental deaths and they have far larger populations. No wonder Chris looks so annoyed with Boris...

I just looked that up on twitter. That's totally nuts. At one point the area where the party happened had the highest death rate for an area in the UK.

Sadly. because of these thoughtless idiots this pandemic is coming back and it will be worse because of the way this is being handled by this incompetent government of ours. Not one of them has any idea on how to handle this very serious situation. They give us an 'update' every day but we all know they only let us know what they want us to know.
They were warned back in November but did nothing till it was too late. Now like the proverbial ostrich they are sticking their heads in the sand hoping that it will go away. We are in for another surge in the not too distant future.

Beach marshals to stop repeat of Dorset coastal influx

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-dorset-52933686

Thousands have flocked to the Jurassic Coast and Bournemouth beaches since lockdown restrictions were eased.

Current government guidelines state that households can drive any distance in England to parks and beaches.

Three people were badly hurt jumping from the limestone arch at Durdle Door.

"Horrendous" amounts of litter were left as visitors descended on the Jurassic Coast Unesco World Heritage site last week.

Following a meeting between Dorset Council, the emergency services and the landowner, a booking system for Durdle Door's car park was announced to "monitor and limit visitor numbers".

Marshals will also be on the beach to discourage tombstoning and to prevent littering, while civil enforcement officers will fine drivers illegally parked on roadsides.
Presumably, the morons will just go somewhere else to get drunk, socialise and pass on the virus .....

Unilateral action won't solve the "tourist" problem - the government caused the chaos, the government should end it .....

Day trippers told to stop littering Yorkshire countryside

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-englan...shire-52920343

North Yorkshire police and crime commissioner Julia Mulligan said there were "alarming and unfair" levels of overcrowding and litter as people visit beauty spots for a break from lockdown.

The Yorkshire Dales National Park said it believed a high number of first-time visitors had played a role.

One Anglican vicar in the Yorkshire Dales said last weekend was the busiest he had seen it in seven years. The Rev Steve Dawson said visitors to Stainforth Foss, a waterfall near Settle, left more than 50 bags of litter for volunteers to collect.

Mrs Mulligan said the police would continue to enforce the rules where needed. "What we have seen over the past few weeks has been alarming and unfair," she said. "Alarming because we should still be doing all we can to control coronavirus and unfair because people are treating North Yorkshire as a playground and not the home it is for those of us who live here.

"We have seen huge challenges - from rubbish strewn across beauty spots, to drivers speeding through our rural communities, visitors blocking roads by parking inconsiderately and campers lighting fires and thinking the rules don't apply to them."
The sheer scale of moronic invasions is becoming apparent - it's the whole of the UK, thanks to the government's "relaxation" .....

Re: Coronavirus: Risk in UK lockdown easing too soon, warn scientists

Well, with mass leisure area invasions last weekend and mass protests across the UK this weekend I should think there'll be a definite "second wave" soon .....

https://ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/660/cp...i061820195.jpg

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-52949014

Protesters have ignored official advice to avoid mass gatherings amid the coronavirus pandemic, with Home Secretary Priti Patel telling people it was "for the safety of all of us".

Demonstrators have congregated in London's Parliament Square and gatherings are planned across the UK.

Met Police Commissioner Dame Cressida Dick said the protests were "unlawful".

Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham has warned that mass gatherings were "high risk" amid fears that coronavirus may be spreading again.
So what's the government, especially Priti Patel, who's responsible for law and order in the UK, going to do about these threats to law-abiding society .....
