Breaking Wind!
As a youngster, I remember that my mother was embarrassed when she, accidently, broke wind.She would attempt to hide the fact by starting to hum a popular tune such that the whole thing sounded like one continuous musical humming session.
It never worked and us kids always new what it really was. How we'd laugh behind her back (when we could breathe)
How times have changed, as I've heard my very young great grand children laughing and joking , maybe even trying to "blow" a tune!
Strange that it's one of those topics, always done but rarely talked about, except for sailors, I remember, testing the Davy Lamp theory by lighting the emissions.
Some bad burns were experienced.
It's a forbidden subject.
Maybe my posting will be blown away?
Apologies for any embarrassment caused.
