Re: Opt Out

My heart is about worn out but the legs are still good. If they put another engine in my chest I bet the the legs would be good for another forty thousand miles....

Once the bed tents cease they can do what they like with it.

Ruddy cheek.
Interesting subject.
If/once you are deceased, ie ceased living or dead there is nothing living. The "Opt Out Clause" if you like.

Those in mourning are another matter.

Re: Opt Out

I've carried a donor card for much longer than I care to remember so it makes no odds to me. They can have what they like except parts of my eyes - I've always been squeamish about eyes .

Don't go for cataract ops then, cos each eye is sliced open in turn (6wks apart) while you are fully conscious

Yes organ donation is by the young, for the young. They are pretty unlikely to bother carrying a donor card.

As long as they don't try to keep my brain alive they can do whatever they like.

Nowt funny about it LD. Although I'm squeamish it wouldn't put me off having cataract ops if I really needed them.

He exaggerates!

They make a tiny cut, much smaller than the replacement lens (which is inserted rolled up).
You don't have to be fully conscious either, though I opted to be and never felt a thing.

In fact I was so happy with it, I'm looking forward to having the other one done. They won't do it, though, until it's sufficiently bad which it isn't at the moment.
