Got to be salad it's getting too hot to cook again, cottage cheese or eggs or some ham for the meat eater(s). Just see what everyone wants when they get home.

Got some nice homemade bread rolls for anyone wanting them and friend gave me a huge jar of home pickled onions which my husband will love.

Re: What are you having for lunch/dinner?

Yesterday in Tesco picked a couple of chickens for less (just) than a fiver, only titchy things but ample for two. Anyway cooked one immediately and when it had cooled stripped off the breasts and made son a huge container of pasta salad, threw in everything but the kitchen sink. Today will strip the rest of the carcass, have some of the meat in a normal salad me self, and use the bones to make a stock for a soup for him tomorrow. Just to ensure the meat does not disintegrate I usually put some in the bottom of the container, then add the soup when it is cold. Not bad, three dinners from a chicken costing under £2.50. And it is so tender too.

Just had 'bangers' & mash - I don't pander to heat or humidity - I have an air cooler to take care of that.

Salad again today either chicken or cheese depends who is eating it, and making a magic chocolate cake for pudding, sauce starts on the top but ends up underneath when baked always amuses the kids.

Re: What are you having for lunch/dinner?

Well, yesterday I discovered that he'd eaten the piece of chicken I'd cooked for myself to have cold (he's not been eating chicken).

Just how the food situation pans out today is anyone's guess .... watch this space for further revelations
