I love crumpets, always have some in the freezer. Can never decide whether I prefer them topped with toasted cheese and sweet pickle, or butter and jam.

My Husband has crumpets with melted butter and cheese on top, but I just have butter.

We have just finished our dinner of a fry-up consisting of:

Eggs, bacon, frankfurters, beans, mushrooms and my husband had cubed potatoes.

No lunch today. Had a late breakfast. Dinner was fish in tempura batter, with salad, chips, peas, tartare sauce, pickled onions and bread. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Earlier today popped into Tesco to stock up on cat litter and flavoured water, they had pork loin joints at half price! So bagged one for just under a tenner, 'tis huge, so will cut it in two and put one in freezer and roast the other tomorrow, with roast tatties, mashed swede and carrot, sweet corn, and broccoli, oh and stuffing and apple sauce. Son has requested that I slow roast the other half to make 'pulled pork' but will have to investigate a decent BBQ sauce to go with.

It was a roast dinner today, with Chicken breasts that I marinated in Piri Piri spices.

Tonight homemade Apple and Blackberry Crumble with custard.
