Re: restless leg syndrome

I read that an orgasm also stops it occurring, try that. Much nicer than tonic water (which is for cramp anyway) and cheaper too.

What on earth do you need a partner for?

Yes, sounds good to me, can it be gotten on prescription?, I ain't got the condition, but it is wise to take precautions.

Re: restless leg syndrome

I get it occasionally, usually when I have been very phyiscally active during the day and used my muscles to their limit.. I also have idiopathic perpheral neuropathy in my feet and am taking gabapentin... It seems to work for the RLS also. I wish the G&T worked for neuropathy, but sadly... it could be a cause of more of it as alcohol is neurotoxic. Best stick with just the Tonic... not as much fun, but safer.

Re: restless leg syndrome

Don't have this problem myself but having a read about it the following advice was given.
Don't drink caffine, or alcohol in the evenings. That includes coco cola,
tea, coffee etc,
Don't take a nap during the day,
Could be caused by iron deficiency, or anti depressant tablets or calcium
tablets. Check with your Doctor.
If tonic water works, cant see why that would harm you. I do take a lot of tonic with my vodka and wine so might be why I don't suffer from this.

Yes, I get it on & off plus I get cramp!

My Dad had his too - dunno whether it's hereditary thing or not but it can be annoying when I'm just nodding of and Wham - my leg twitches very strongly!

Bit dodgy now as my wife's back in the same bed so I've got a bit paranoid about it now, worried in case I actually kick her as it's the left hip she's just had replaced - I always sleep on her left!

The cramp can be very painful - do you get that too?

I get it in my leg when I'm asleep, same leg that twitches, (?), but I get it in both arms and my hands too at times.

I usually know if I'm going to have RLS now because I get a tingling sensation before I go to bed - it's really odd! stevmk2
