Julie I have discovered the latest very expensive dryers are quite compact , they also have a kind of mesh on the back to prevent long hair being sucked into the dryer.

Yes, I have had to give in and buy a smaller hairdryer cos I can't do with the aching arms, oh the joys of growing older.
I did actually get my hair stuck in the 'dryer a few years back, OH had to release me, not a a pleasant experience!

When my usual one broke, I nicked OH's darkroom hairdryer cos he never used it. Think it was a Braun and nice and compact and excellent for my hair.

After that I bought a larger one and hated it.
Gotta small cheapo one now ~ works OK.
All I want it to do is dry my hair innit

Ah technology is getting better, it was 30 odd years ago I worked in a hairdryer factory.

I use a contraption to cut my hair that uses a vacuum cleaner.
