Cumbria has the highest R rating in the country ditto the South west so it would seem that the herd immunity thing had some truth in after all as infections in cities are down.

The Gorge is empty, apart from some lycra bums whizzing through.
I just took Dolly for a walk as far as the shops go, not The Gorge proper, too far for my little legs. Took a few photos of the emptyness.

I doubt it will be the same after lunch though.

Perhaps you would provide a source for your assertion.

The only source I could find is:

which puts the North-East and Yorkshire at the top of the "R-List".

Re: Coronavirus: Tourists should 'Think Twice' about returning to beauty spots

Why, oh why can,t the government get tough and make these 'advisory' rules law. The police say they have no jurisdiction to stop people from gathering in groups. Their hands are tied. Then the government must make it law and clamp down heavily on anyone breaking a law.
To be honest I don,t think the government has any idea how to stop or eliminate this virus. yes, no-one else has either but to listen to the virus update each day gives me the thought than none of these 'experts' have a clue and are just grasping at straws. They all appear 'lost'. They all tell us what they are doing but nothing is changing. This virus is still rife and will remain with us for years yet.

Said it on the news the other day but the 0.73 on your chart is not a million miles from 0.8

Then in a situation because of the seriousness of this pandemic we should till it is over and we are all 'free' again.
