Tbh, I have no idea what make my bed is even though I see the name every time we change the bedding. It might be a 'Silent Night' mattress. The actual bed was bought from 'The Iron Bed Company' about twenty odd years ago.

The one I have now - pine frame and headboard, four good sized drawers in the base for the bed linen, and a rock hard orthopaedic mattress - perfect!

Re: what is the best bed you have had?

Best bed we ever had was an old iron bedstead with a hard mattress and a soft one on top. That lasted over twenty years for us. We regretted changing eventually to a pine bed and medium mattress. But it is quieter than the squeaky bed springs

Re: what is the best bed you have had?

Little true story about Iron beds.

When we stayed at my grandmothers house my parents slept in a house extension with only access it had was via the outside.

Well when I was a very little lad I ran up the steps to this extn, opened the door and jumped on the end of this bed. Unfortunately the retaining bolts had not been inserted to hold the frame together.

Yes you guessed it, the bottom end of the frame collapsed and out shot my parents feet first onto the floor.

Well I thought it funny at the time but my parents didn't.
Strange how these delightful moments in a young life are remembered for a lifetime
