I read a thing this very evening that sums it all up nicely, I thought.
Here it is:
"At the end of the day, most people just want dogs for companionship. The connection we feel towards them might be even stronger than the ones we feel for human family members sometimes.
Dogs don't judge us, answer back or lie to us - in fact, they are the source of comfort that many people crave.
It doesn't matter who you are, what you look like, or what job you do, as long as you are kind to your dog, he or she will love you.
It is this trust and loyalty that draws us in and makes us love them right back."
Says it all really, doesn't it.
