Re: Diary.

I don't have a smart phone or a tablet, (I have more important things on which to spend my very limited money) so yes I do have a diary and a calendar in the kitchen .

Every December I go through the old calendar and transfer all the birthdays to the new one and to the diary and I also add any hospital and dental appointments and the children's school holidays.

Re: Diary.

I only kept one once, and documented my life throughout the year, i did have a hankering to join the Filofax brigade for a while, but gave mysrelf plenty of slaps until the urge went away.

As for smart phones, mine cost £14, and i have music, photos, videos, gets updates from my health providers can send emails, txt, and calls, record sounds, take photos, vids, and store loads of data so good value i feel.

Re: Diary.

I struggle to find a pen when I need one these days. So a diary is not an option in our culture of distraction. Time for a techno detox?

Re: Diary.

No longer need to use a diary as I rarely go anywhere, but I do keep birthdays, appointments etc on a calendar on the kitchen wall. No smart phone for me either.

I was only saying to my daughter today that no-one ever seems to use notelets or writing paper these days - that was after seeing them on sale as Christmas gifts. I have a box full of the things, dating back years, which will never get used.

Re: Diary.

I always use a diary and two calendars to keep records of appointments, birthdays, special days. I don’t write in the diary every day ... just if we’ve done something special or gone somewhere special that day.

I keep one ‘pretty’ calendar in the kitchen and the other ‘plain’ one is kept next to my computer....
