Sequel or A Gaseous Tale Part 2 !

Meter reaches 60p at lunchtime - I call British Gas. Pre-recorded message says 'They are sorry but their site is down - unless it is an emergency - go away' or words to that effect. I stay put and eventually speak to a young man who promises me an engineer within 4 hours. This was 12:30pm - engineer arrived at 3:00pm. Bright shiney new meter installed. Inserted my card - guess what - it wouldn't work! He has given me £10 'emergency credit' because I qualify as 'vulnerable' and ordered me a new card! Bless him!
He then checked that all the appliances were working - and left at 4:00pm.

I feel quite relieved for you ... making the call and then waiting for someone, can be stressing enough but I really think they should give you the tenners worth for nothing. None of this was your fault.

A tenners worth she deserves free gas for a few weeks for this rubbish service !

Thank goodness you have got a new machine but they should put money on it automatically regardless of what has been going on.

The other Christmas they came and changed our meter and did this automatically as good will the man said.

As I said on the other thread on this topic I had a similar repair delay with BT went on to facebook and outlined my problem said what a bunch of incompetent waste of space they and their service was.

Result repair attended to the following day. They hate bad publicity so give then some grief. It worked for me.
