I think he (dc) needs to watch this, after all CC did much the same and she had to resign. Also she had the decency to apologise in public. Why should he get to act as if the rules don't apply to him. They Do.

I see Alistair Campbell has now swiftly deleted his post showing him with Everton Fan "Speedo Mick" and breaking the lock down rules himself.Seems the media and public outrage have a rule for Cummings and a rule for everyone else.

If we ever needed confirmation that there is one rule for one and another for others it is this ....This is official .. not advice. Clarification at last.
What incurred a fine before no longer incurs a fine now ..

Does the government not realise how damaging all this is to them.
Parents free to relocate to seek childcare like Cummings did, says minister
Everyone can drive across the country and relocate their households to seek childcare in the same way that Dominic Cummings did, a cabinet minister has said, but there will be no review of fines imposed on people who have done that before now.

So DC broke the rules. He is a man of high office so what a scoop for the press!!! "Let,s tear him to pieces, let,s drag every bit of dirt we can against him".Thousand have broken the same ruling but they are just plain Joe Bloggs and not a man of note. They may get a short line in the press but nothing else. But to get a big fish, now this is something to work mon!!!.
Thousands broke the rules and went to the beaches over the week-end. Did they all observe the two metre rule? Very doubtful.
If a prominent man or woman were seen sunbathing and not observing the rules the press would be there like a flock of vultures but there was only plain old Joe and Jane there so why bother.
I liken the media to a pack of Hyenas or a flock of vultures going in to pick the bones clean.

Do you think Boris would get infront of a camera and stick up for them?
Or does this suggest that depending upon who you are you can expect to sidestep or be immune from any criticism.
He could have apologised.
He could have appeared to be just a little bit contrite.
That way he could have brazened it out ... instead of relying on blustering Boris to brazen it out for him whilst he hid under his skirt (or up his trouser leg).
Out of all this, more than DC's flouting of any rules it's been an eyeopener and a bit disturbing just how far Boris is prepared to go to defend him.
Can Boris not function without him?
