Boris v Hunt? My prediction!

Although l believe the upcoming tory leadership contest
is irrelavant ! I still have a preferance for who l would like
to see win! Obviously my preference is biased to what l
believe is good for uk!
But l dont think my preferance, ( Boris ) will win it? Because
the majority of tories are remainers at heart, and imo Hunt
is a dyed in the wool remainer, so most tories will vote for
him? This will be a disaster for brexit as l believe he will
continue with the mad cows policy of kick the can down
the road despite all his protestations to the contrary?
However, either of them still have to get any sort of a
policy past a truculent POSHOC!
We will soon see how much of my prediction comes true?

Regards Donkeyman!

In the end they are both Tories, and I don't want either of the Scunners.

Re: Boris v Hunt? My prediction!

I feel that I've learned quite a lot, about the way politics works in the UK, since the birth of Brexit.

For years I put my trust in the Tories, and voted that way, without feeling the need to be a subscriber.

Largely, politics was the part of the newspaper which I, rapidly, jumped over in favour of the sport.

I thought the Prime Minister, having been elected, became the leader of the UK in the sense that he/she chaired the Government and ran the Cabinet.

Today, I watch the big boys, once again, demonstrating their in-bred snake oil selling techniques.

Promise after promise, not a chance of most of it coming to pass.

I, now, see the Democracy, claimed by the UK as just as much of a scam as the current EU activity in cutting and pasting favoured Germans & French into the positions of power in the EU.

Still, never mind, the reign of Teresa May demonstrated that, whoever is PM here, that PM will given no power, by Parliament, to achieve anything.

Bottom Line?

It doesn't matter which one we, the public, support.

We just have to suck it up.!

Re: Boris v Hunt? My prediction!

IMO, if Hunt wins, we will get more of the same as the last 3 yrs, until time runs out. He's not a leader , and is hardly likely to pull the party together again. Boris, at least has a degree of charisma and although we have criticized him for his outspoken remarks, I don't think any other country has been offended, even though certain remarks have been directed at them.
He's nowhere near as bad as Trump is, for insulting people .

Excellent post Tedc, I feel completely disconnected from politics, the trust and belief has been irreparable damaged for me. We have been told many times that if voting made a difference we wouldn't be allowed. The last three years has made that very obvious.

I believe you're right.

I think Boris is more likely to win the race and become PM but, as you say, with such a small majority in the Commons plus the opposition of the Poison Dwarf, he will not be able to get Brexit accepted.

And so it will continue, at least until the next GE.

We will remain in, but in limbo. We will continue to pay a fortune to the EU to the detriment of our own country.

Our only real hope is the next GE. If people still remember this pantomime, and I sincerely hope they do, they have the choice of bumbling along just as we are or making a real change to this country - not just by leaving the EU, but also by regaining a true democracy.

I wonder how brave we voters will be.

Re: Boris v Hunt? My prediction!

I think Boris has this in the bag. This is the big week when we get our voting papers for the postal vote so by end of day Sunday, the decisions will already have been made.

Expect lots of weird policies in the coming days from BoJo and Hunt

Bread! I dont think so!
The tories have no way of getting a majority in POSHOC?
Therefore we cant put our trust in Boris! everything they say
has only one aim, the survival of the tory party!
Imo leavers can only put faith in The brexit party!
They are an unknown quantity, but their main aim is
unambiguous, to get out of eu! exactly what we want!
What more do you need to know?
