Re: Anne Widdecombe's Amazing Speech

And when Tusk was confronted over the completely undemocratic election of the EU front bench, he sat there like a child and said "no comment".

Anne Widdecombe is one of the few - very few - politicians for whom I have a modicum of respect.

Re: Anne Widdecombe's Amazing Speech

Anne Widdecombe made a fool of herself on “Strictly Come Dancing”, now she has made a fool of all of us with this extreme right wing rant! Farage is bad enough but now we have to endure this vile double act. The British Empire (which I have to remind you no longer exists nor ever will again), like all Empires of the time, was largely built on slavery (and yes Scots played their full part). We reluctantly banned slavery largely because the Industrial Revolution meant we no longer needed so much slave produced goods.
To compare the evil of slavery to the European project which has its faults but was not built on conquest and racism is beyond belief and downright dangerous.

She was right.

The EU favors free movement of European white Christians over black muslims from India and black Christians from Africa. If you want racism look no further than the EU.

Re: Anne Widdecombe's Amazing Speech

In the EU we have a voice, we have a veto and we have a vote, how can the demented cow consider that to be slavery?

EU Brexit co-ordinator Guy Verhofstadt said Ms Widdecombe was giving her party leader, Nigel Farage, "stiff competition as chief clown".

Nice one Guy

Because it means nothing. A vote is only of use if it means something - look at the appointments ... Ursual van de Leyen wasn't even on the ballot (for example) and who voted for ex-convict Christine Lagarde ? It's single party politics on acid - they are all socialists. Where is the opposition ? Where is the Senate ?

Look at the number of national vetoes of the past say 20 years or so. Ask yourself, why is that figure going down instead of up if the EU is as democratic as they claim ?

There is talk of even more national vetoes being culled - the way forward will be similar to the Singapore Agreement and how that deal was made - the EU elite wouldn't allow a veto.

Re: Anne Widdecombe's Amazing Speech

Have you noticed that the people who complain about Anne Widdecombe's speech and the protest by The Brexit Party MEP's during the playing of the EU's theme tune have said not a peep about the blatant use of a swear word printed on the T shirts of LibDem MEP's?

Neither have they complained about the reporting and images of those T shirts being shown on the BBC and other MSM
