Where is the Senate ?
Look at the number of national vetoes of the past say 20 years or so. Ask yourself, why is that figure going down instead of up if the EU is as democratic as they claim ?
There is talk of even more national vetoes being culled - the way forward will be similar to the Singapore Agreement and how that deal was made - the EU elite wouldn't allow a veto.
So where is the justification for suggesting that we are slaves to Europe?
You say that a vote is only of use if it means something, what you mean is it only means something IF it goes your way. Where is the democracy that you keep rabbiting about in that?
Claim
The UK share of the vote in the EU Council of Ministers is 8%, down from 17% when we joined.
Conclusion
It has declined, but a new system based on population makes the UK's vote worth 13%. A lot of Council decisions are made by consensus after negotiation, so vote share doesn't neatly capture the UK's influence.
Another great piece of evidence based observation "there is talk" up to your normal standard.
