Interesting conversation over lunch today with my brother and sister and their spouses.When I am with them I am transported back to my childhood and tend to view the old days with rose-tinted glasses.
I caught a reflection of us in a nearby mirror & was taken aback to see three white-haired seventy somethings peering back at me. My siblings and I had suddenly become quite old.
Our grandfather, another Robert was the topic of conversation during lunch, very much so because of the 100th anniversary of the Armistice.

I too like many listened to the armistice 'show' mainly by radio but half way through the morn I became sick of the stories of carnage and pain and men being court martialled for failing in their duties due to extreme 'PTSD" what a pointless exercise|
