I had no idea that Aerosmith did 'Walk this way'. I only knew the Run DMC version. Who did the original?
Great band Aerosmith and of course he produced the lovely Liv Tyler.

Walk This Way was their song in the first place, Longdogs. From one of their early albums about 1975 I think
The Run DMC version used the rappers' original lyrics but added Aerosmith with them playing a re-recorded version of their song on it. It worked really well and was quite a revolutionary thing whereby many rap acts are sampling rock tracks these days.

Ah, I get it. I played them both and they sounded the same so that explains it. Great riff too.

No.193: James

Led by the glorious, soaring vocals of frontman Tim Booth, James are one of the most enduring of British indie-pop bands. Perhaps best known for their biggest hit “Sit Down”, the following song is my particular favourite:

No.192: Hawkwind

Dave Brock’s space hippies are now in their 49th year, albeit with many line-up changes. With trippy anthems and ‘out there’ live shows, they will always be renowned for this classic single, with vocals from the late, great Lemmy:

No.191: Paul Carrack / Mike + The Mechanics

Beginning in the 70’s pop band Ace and their big hit “How Long”, Paul Carrack has gone on to a highly distinguished solo career but is better known for his work as lead vocalist with Mike Rutherford’s Genesis-offshoot Mike And The Mechanics (who are included in this post's entry), their classic single 'The Living Years' features below.
A superb musician too, playing guitar and keyboards, Carrack has played with all the big names including Paul McCartney and Eric Clapton. I have tickets to see this fine singer-songwriter next March.

Yes, she was called Stacy I believe and she used to dance naked on stage. I don't know what became of her though

Good band Hawkwind, mate. I'd recommend their 1972 album 'In Search Of Space' if you want somewhere to start.

Thanks Floydy. It's good to get a starting point sometimes. I did mention before that I have a bit of catching up to do.
