Yes darlin' and its in the same street and only a few doors away from the Fish 'n chip restaurant we were discussing on another thread t'other day. So I get a combination of smells from the fish 'n chips and pies.

Re: Irritating Soggy Bottoms!

Never mind Aysa. What I usually do now IF I ever put the fan-assist oven on, is ensure its preheated, whatever the minimum timings are on the food (i.e. 22-25 mins) I usually cook for the minimum time rather than inbetween or maximum time. (certain failure). So far so good, it's just those pesky french fries which have a mind of their own!! 14-16 minutes is still too long for my oven. I have slowly come to realise that 12 minutes is right to avoid those bloomin crispy edges.

I have two Quorn chicken & leek pies in the oven right now, will be inspecting their bottoms when they come out. (Can I say that?)

But if they're 'Quorn' - they're not chicken per se.

I agree of course.

Nope, no sogginess whatsoever. That was directly onto an oven dish.

Did the soggy bottom problem ever get resolved?
