Re: Be careful at night

I dont walk anywhere in the dark and if I do I would only do so if I had someone with me and my trusty Mag light torch,it would pack a very nasty punch if needed.
If out at night driving I always lock my car doors if im staitionary,I unlock them while on the move (if crawling in traffic theyre locked)
I have floodlight sensor security lighting outside in my driveway for when I get home, and also sensor lighting in my back garden area.
You cant be too careful nowadays...I wouldnt personally carry an alarm as I think no one would bother about it. A set of keys firmly in hand can do some damage if you have your wits about you..which you should have.
Having said that I wouldnt be putting myself in a vulnerable position in the first place...but do understand that its not always possible

Re: Be careful at night

Good to see such careful people here.

This is one site that was recommended if anyone was interested in looking at what's available and prices.
It might take a minute to load, so be patient.

However, your best option is not to stray into unlit or desolate areas. Walk amongst people - safety in numbers

Weren't they a pop group in the 60s?

I used to have 7 x 44 kg alarms too, but dogs can still be shot! Even some of the police dogs get injured don't they.
Mind you, I must admit I felt pretty safe.

Shooting a dark dog in the dark would be a challenge.

Lol! I'm sure Sting would love you to have aged him 20 years, Tabby.

We are very lucky around here.A nice respectable neighbourhood, you could carry out a reign of terror with a balloon on a stick.
We do occasionally get hoons(nutters in cars) from the nearest town but they cause more damage to themselves.

Why? Why not lock all doors? Central locking makes it easy - actually I think my car automatically locks all the doors when you move off.

Short of spending our lives behind locked doors what can we do to protect ourselves?
