Yes. it's a real photo which I came across in a magazine. The lady in question apparently runs an animal sanctuary somewhere and the particular lion in the picture was rescued as a young cub and she brought it up as a pet! Not sure whether I would be brave enough to give it a cuddle though but it does look lovely. Unfortunately I didn't copy a link to her sanctuary, sorry.

For a minute there I thought it was a picture you took yourself of some random woman glad it's of the woman who runs the sanctuary - as the last thing we'd want is people doing that thinking it's ok

Amazing pic ....... hand reared or not, he's still a wild animal and unpredictable; that looks very dangerous to me. But then I'm, a wimp!

oh that is lovely,There is a film maker who used to have a lion at the beginning of the films and I always wanted to hug it, lucky woman.

It is quite touching how this powerful and dangerous animal can behave just like an affectionate kitten with someone it obviously has a great bond with. Thank you Bob and Mags for posting it.
